Honorable Vance Wilkins Jr.
Virginia House of Delegates
P.O. Box 469
Amherst, Va. 24521

Dear Vance:

You are THE MAN!!!  You ARE the man!!!  Bay-beeee!!!  Dad-deee-O!!!

Talk about getting a break when you need one!

I was holding my breath on the seat thing.  I was afraid Morgan and the boys would ask you to give it up.   But, hey, the coast is clearing!  You're going to be okay!

That double standard thing?  Poooh!

What is clearly unacceptable behavior for a speaker must not be a big deal for a mere member.  They're not going to bring it up!  You just be sure you don't.  You don't want to burden that bunch on the consistency question.  They've got about all they can tote right now.

I know you've probably been thinking about hanging out the wash on some of them.  But hold that thought.  I don't think it's going to be necessary.  I know it's your nature.  Understandable, too.  But resist that urge.

A laundry standoff could get nasty.  Not to mention how much trouble it'd be.  We'd have to pump the James River dry to do the washing, and string up a nine-mile clothesline to hang it on.  Who's got time for that?

Besides, think about what's best for the cause.  Put yourself aside and think about poor Kilgore.   He's already gotten carpal tunnel from patting himself on the back.  It would be cruel to give him another herd to catch right now.  He's still winded from that last sprint.  And he's got that budget mess in the AG's office to deal with.  Little guy can't stand but so much.

The thing to do, my friend, is just lay low.  Don't worry about it.  They're going to let you keep your seat.  Turn your mind to other pursuits.

How's your garden?  We could use some rain out this way.

Take care.

Your pal ...
