Humane Society seeking donations
PETS
The Franklin County Humane Society is soliciting a little extra help for its dogs and cats waiting for a forever home. Items may be dropped off this month at the Pet Clinic of Rocky Mount Planned Pethood Clinic, The Uttermost Company, Westlake Vitazen and Westlake Veterinary Medical Hospital.
Donations are appreciated and will be put to good use for rescued animals. The Humane Society's Foster and Rescue Program has cared for more than 171 dogs and 325 cats during the first six months of 2008.
The following items are needed:
For cats:
Friskies and Fancy Feast Wet cat food
Kitten Chow and Purina Adult cat food
Crystal cat litter
Litter boxes and scoops
Kitty condos
Plastic carriers
Laundry detergent
Bleach
Paper towels
Cat toys
For dogs:
Dry, wet or soft dog and puppy food -- (Beneful, Purina dog/puppy, Iams dog/puppy, Purina One)
Bones and treats
Wal-Mart or PetSmart gift cards to buy food
Leads, collars and toys
Wire kennels and dog beds
Dog shampoo
Stainless steel food and water bowls
Bath towels, washcloths and fleece baby blankets
