Corner Shot: Kittywigs.com
The e-mail arrived from a friend. "For your cats" was the subject.
The link led me to kittywigs.com, which is pretty self-explanatory: a site selling tiny wigs for cats.
There you'll see Chicken, a cute gray kitty modeling "Pink Passion" (at left). The hairpiece includes bangs and long, rose-petal curls. Temporarily, the Web site says, the model is out-of-stock.
In a separate picture, Chicken sports the "Electric Blue" -- the sort of indigo you'll find on Volkswagen Beetles -- which supposedly "gives your kitty a sharp look."
I was just impressed that Chicken, and fellow kitty/wig model Fern, looked remarkably unticked-off.
I forwarded the link to cat-owning friends. We looked at the site. We giggled.
Then, we noticed that the wigs -- which come with a case and a toy mouse -- are $50 a pop.
Like most cats, mine would wear the wigs long enough to shake them off, then sleep on them, if they acknowledged them at all.
So if nothing else, I guess kittywigs.com is at least good for a laugh. -- Erinn Hutkin
