Saw a hog trotting through the marsh on our way out to the hunt area and saw a dead 201-pounder that a hunter took at the end of the day. Saw a couple deer, half-dozen squirrels, but no hogs.
Very interesting habitat. Several hunters reported seeing coyotes. Neat day, overall. It was a little unnerving hunting a public hunt after hunting private land for over 20 years. I got a little jittery when I saw an orange-clad hunter moving through the woods, but I didn’t hear of any accidents or near misses. God bless hunter orange.
