BILL: I read your article about ammunition being scarce (last week’s Cochran Column) and that put me on the hunt. I deer hunt with a .30-30 and was in need of another box of shells. Fortunately, Dick's and Walmart were well stocked with .30-30s as well as .30-06s.
Dick's was much cheaper than Walmart and even had a mail-in rebate with Remington. I was shocked at the sticker price at Walmart, $18.99. Wow!
I may have timed my purchase just right, the cost may change in another month.
