H.M. The spring turkey tally is weeks away, but that might not be the case in the future. A proposals being considered by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries would require hunters to register their spring gobblers by phone or internet. That is expected to speed up the process. Right now, the holdback is getting turkey check tags from the hundreds of big game checking stations scattered throughout the rural areas of the state.
