BILL: I appreciate you keeping us up to date on the elk situation in Virginia. The past two or three years, elk have been a legal target during any open deer season. In view of game officials talking about letting the elk herd in Southwest Virginia expend, will that same rule apply this coming fall?

H.C.: At this point there has been no change in elk hunting regulations, and there likely isn’t time to make a change for the upcoming hunting seasons. Past that, there is a good chance elk hunting regulations will be tightened in the future.
