BILL: I just read your opinion about the special bear license. You are completely out in left field about the fee. In 2001 Watkins Abbott had the bill introduced and passed by the General Assembly setting the fee. We as bear hunters feel that this would give the Department [of Game and Inland Fisheries] extra monies. Most states that allow bear hunting separate bear as a special license. If you don't believe me check it out for yourself. Remember it's not about control, it is about revenue.

BILL: I’m 72-years-old and have never killed a bear, but I want to go on record as strongly opposing a bear license, or adding any other license to the list. We buy enough licenses anyway so don’t add any others or jack up the prices.
