More calls for Sunday hunting

BILL: Hunters thank you for continuing to write related to the subject of Sunday hunting in Virginia. The number of hunters that strongly support Sunday hunting is growing, while opposition is diminishing.
The vast majority of hunters feel that Sunday’s hunting ban is unfair. Virginia Code 29.1-521 likely would have been repealed years ago if hunters had organized. The collective strength of Virginia’s hunters is huge. Our financial and voting power is enormous.
I’d like to take this opportunity to announce the creation of Hunters United for Sunday Hunting, or HUSH. It has been crated to be the political voice for hunters that wish to have the choice to hunt on Sunday in Virginia. HUSH takes the approach that current Virginia law that makes Sunday hunting illegal is socially discriminatory and very likely unconstitutional.
HUSH is in its infancy. We need support in the form of voices and revenue. Our Web site is under construction and will be available soon as possible. We can be contacted at VASundayHunting@aol.com

BILL: From all my research on Sunday hunting, and speaking with delegates, senators, Department of Game and Inland Fisheries board members and director and others, I have definitely learned something:
Those who whine, cry and demand everything get nothing and get nowhere. Those who carefully research issues while respecting the beliefs of others stand a better chance.
HB 1456 is a new bill introduced by Del. Nichols. It will allow archery-only Sunday hunting on private land. To me, this is a fantastic bill and, in my opinion, seems to stand a very good chance for support.
Archery is virtually silent and with hunting only on private land, then horseback riders and hikers in the state and national forests, as well as DGIF wildlife management areas, won’t be bothered. Church parishioners won’t be bothered by the sound of gunfire, either. It is a win-win situation.

BILL: I find it interesting that our state leadership is pushing for Sunday liquor sales and killing Sunday hunting at the same time. Are they telling us to stay at home and just drink on Sundays?
