Dan Casey has been riding bicycles -- racing, touring, commuting and working -- since he was 5 years old. He's a former youth bike trip leader for American Youth Hostels. He spent two years as a full-time bike messenger in Washington, D.C. -- where he was known as the Kamikaze Courier -- and cycled from Seattle to New York in 1983. Dan has been posting information about bike rides in the Roanoke region since 1997, but he doesn’t offer a guide service (not yet, anyway). He’s the past president of the Roanoke, Va.-based Blue Ridge Bicycle Club, but the views on these pages are his own. He welcomes your e-mail.
