Natural Bridge is an asset  for Virginia

When I read of the sale of Natural Bridge (“Natural Bridge, its nearby attractions are up for sale,” May 23 news story), I thought there would be more flack in the paper. Evidently, the people who reside in this state aren’t educated to the fact they have one of the wonders of the world right here in Virginia.

I commend Rep. Bob Goodlatte for coming forward with a plan (“A national park at Natural Bridge?,” June 20 news story). He also needs the cooperation of the people of Virginia to rally around and give some help.

The Natural Bridge is our heritage. It has been there for years. I remember traveling over it on U. S. 11 many times. Just about everyone who has visited me I have taken to see the Natural Bridge of Virginia.

1. It has the large hotel and dining room.

2. The Wax Museum

3. The zoo nearby.

4. The caverns that you can see while hiking the trail for the bridge.

Let’s preserve what we have.
