With all the negative press that the town of Blacksburg had garnered in the past few years (1st & Main, the Baptist Church, the Taylor House and now the Middle School property), I would like to commend one of the best representatives the town has. As a lifelong resident of Blacksburg, I wish that his face were the one all residents and outsiders encountered in dealing with the town.
Matt Stolte, a town engineer, has exhibited nothing but a professional, positive and caring attitude in working to replace the Forest Hill Pumping Station. Stolte is a credit to the town and his profession.
The project took longer than he or I expected, but he kept me and other residents well-informed. Stolte was always accessible and willing to discuss any issue that residents might have had.
Other representatives of Blacksburg could learn from his behavior.
Kudos to Stolte for a job well done.
