Town taxes pay for snow removal
It is nice to see the weather getting warmer and the end of the snow season. Christiansburg employees are even more relieved, as the good weather means no more snow plowing and treating streets.
For the town of Christiansburg, snow season provides manpower and financial challenges. In this year’s budget, the town allocated $237,000 for snow removal and ice control. This year, from November to February the town spent $60,000 on salt and brine for the town’s roads.
For those who complain that they don’t know what the town is doing with their tax money, snow and ice removal is a good example.
