Obamacare’s crucial benefit
Even before Obamacare, costs for health insurance (premiums plus deductibles plus copays plus coinsurance) rose dramatically every year for the last 20 years, for me and everyone I know.
Obamacare at least will guarantee that everyone can get coverage, even for pre-existing conditions. Thank God — and the Democrats — for moving America from third-world insurance standards to first-world standards. This is America, after all.

Change in the world is part of God’s plan
Re: “There can be nothing new to a creator God,” by Foster Covington (July 13 letter):
Why? Is God not able to change his or her mind? Is God not able to change how he or she feels?
I believe in God, and God told me Covington doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
If he is correct, as he thinks he is, then I am correct, as I know I am. God is accepting of change because change has made this world into what it is. If there were no change in the world, where would we be?
God’s plan is at work. Change is at work. Covington may think it is not good, but I believe it is for the better. I see it when I pray for change.

God’s judgment differs from the court’s
Many people are happy because of the Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage, but I will never believe God is pleased, based on what the Bible teaches.
