Deen isn’t the only mere mortal

What is happening here? Paula Deen has admitted to saying the N-word in the past. How awful! If you have ever said, “eenie, meenie, minee, mo” as a child, you have said the dreaded N-word.

Even knowing the past history attached to this word, I declare that intent is missing in these charges. Deen never set out to hurt anyone with this word. Are we so determined to be politically correct that we have no compassion or forgiveness for others? What a sad state of affairs.

I am certain that there are derogatory words used by people of color when referring to others of the white race.

Are we to ask everyone now if they have used any derogatory words toward any other race before giving them our respect or acceptance? What hogwash.

We are all in this human condition together. We are all racists to some degree.

Let’s just forgive each other and accept each other as imperfect and get on with life.

Obama fiddles as nation burns

Our country is crumbling around us. Let’s take a quick recap. First, we have Fast and Furious, then the Benghazi debacle. Next, we have people voting multiple times in a presidential election. The U.S. Department of Justice starts eavesdropping on the media, suggesting criminal activity in news gathering. Lastly, a high school dropout has brought the world’s most powerful intelligence-gathering agency to its knees.

Instead of accepting responsibility and taking action, our president gazes at his navel and continues to trot the globe pontificating on his vision of what the world can be if we would only embrace his vision of “hope and change.”

He held press conferences and declared he was disappointed and angry. He trotted out his press secretary every day for more fluff and bluster.

After all the smoke clears and we take down the mirrors, the fact remains, he has done nothing.

It is the demise of the “great experiment” as the world laughs up its collective sleeve.

The bad guys will always dislike us. Now they don’t even respect us.
