Uh-oh; liberals have moved in
It seems that a new cell of liberalism has sprung up in Daleville. Too bad, because it’s an otherwise nice town. I refer specifically to the letters published in The Roanoke Times from Sage Bassett (“Conservatives are implacable foes,” June 16) and Bobbie Jackson (“Troubling donors reflect on the A.G.,” June 17) whining about conservatives’ refusal to give in to liberal Democrats’ increasingly wrong-headed plans to ruin this country, and Ken Cuccinelli’s excellent performance as attorney general of Virginia.
In the first case, I’d hate to see where this country would be if conservatives hadn’t been fighting against the constant flow of garbage legislation spewed by the Obama administration and its minions. Yes, we will continue to block and prevent as much of this as possible. And I find it outrageous that this newspaper allows Bassett to call conservatives “stupid” with impunity. The term should have been edited out.
In the second case, it’s not surprising that liberals/Democrats get an early start slinging mud where there’s none to sling. Terry McAuliffe had better be ready for the barrage of truth that’s going to hit him soon.

Government is welcome to know
I am extremely pleased that the government has my personal information and Social Security number. I pay my taxes and am a law-abiding citizen. I expect my government to differentiate between myself and the thieves and criminals.
The people who use electronic media are a legend in their own minds. If they don’t want everyone to know their business, then they shouldn’t post and tag it all over the web.
