The valley can be proud of filmmaker
Many - too many - people missed quite a production. Roanoke's own Katie Teague presented her documentary, "Money & Life." You should have seen it. You might not have espoused her politics, but you'd have greatly admired her talent and professionalism.
We've read recently about J.J. Redick and his basketball success. We're proud. We've read of Ross Copperman and his musical success. We're proud. We've read of Ed Walker's success in promoting our communities. We're proud.
Where was The Roanoke Times when Teague came to town? I know the paper was notified of the premiere at the Grandin Theatre and Dumas Center, but opted out of covering the event.
Locally educated, Teague has gone on to quite an interesting life. Roanokers are surely proud to claim her.
You can see the documentary on the Internet at moneyandlifemovie.com. Do so. You'll be curious for more of Teague's comprehensive research. And you'll burst with pride that she is one of us.

Sweep out the old; nominate Christley
Twelve years of experience as a Roanoke County supervisor is not enough qualification for what this county needs in a new supervisor. The past 12 years contributed to the county's $200 million debt, struggling businesses and continued loss of our children to more trending cities.
We need new vision and ideas, not old habits and routine. We need RoxAnne Christley. She is a true leader who engages those around her to get involved and contribute. She is dedicated to attracting new business to our area that will bring more trending opportunities and interests that will encourage our children and future generations to live, work and raise their families here.
She knows that keeping taxes low and getting the government out of our personal lives is essential to increasing the prosperity in Roanoke County. Twelve years as a private business woman and citizen, working and volunteering in her community, serving and giving of her time and talents are what this county needs in a new supervisor. Vote for Christley on May 11 at the Brambleton Center. I am. I hope you will, too.
