In reference to Will's references
Monday, February 4, 2013
In this newspaper on Jan. 27, columnist George Will (“Obama boosts conservatives”) produced more astonishing conclusions than an A-list Las Vegas magician, the main topic being the pro and con numbers bandied about in the climate-change argument, if it can be called an argument at all.
Perspective is in order.
On the one hand, those who take climate change seriously can reference respected, well-researched journals, Scientific American, for example.
On the other hand, climate-change doubters, like Will, source The Wall Street Journal, whose editorial page motto may as well be “Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you may die, and we’ll see to a profit on that, too!”
Well, well, gosh, gosh, who are we gonna believe, who are we gonna believe?
Determining the correct answer to that question should be the least of our problems in this pressing matter.
