Botetourt Co. planners approve rezoning
The Botetourt County Planning Commission voted 5-0 Monday to recommend a rezoning request to the county board of supervisors for a nine-home subdivision and restaurant. They also gave a preliminary plat approval for the subdivision.
During the Jan. 9 meeting, members of the commission voted to recommend denying a request to rezone 15 acres from agricultural to residential for a housing development and 2 acres from agricultural to business use for a new home for Teaberry's restaurant. After that vote, developer John Suprenant went back to the drawing board, moving all lots out of the flood zone.
The commission also voted 5-0 to recommended approval by the board of supervisors for rezoning 3 acres of a 22-acre tract from agricultural to residential use for four single-family dwellings on the west side of Stonegate Drive and gave preliminary plat approval for the subdivision.
