Henry Co. officers seek suspect in shooting death

Corey Jermaine Hairston
On Monday, they put the owner of the home behind bars and questioned him.
And by Tuesday morning, the trailer home was a ball of fire, burning as firefighters doused it in water.
Henry County deputies are looking for Corey Jermaine Hairston, a 31-year-old from Axton who they have charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, Sheriff Lane Perry said in a news release.
Authorities believe Hairston killed Kenneth Wayne Booth, a 51-year-old who was found on the driveway beside Mark Anthony Vernon's house in Ridgeway. Vernon is being held on unrelated charges.
The fire was believed to have been an arson, though a link with the shooting has not been established, Perry said.
Hairston is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair that was last seen braided in dreadlocks.
Anyone with information on Hairston's whereabouts or the fire is asked to call detectives at (276) 638-8751 or Crime Stoppers, which may offer a monetary reward, at (276) 632-7463.
