Radio IQ expands coverage area
WVTW-FM, the Roanoke-based news and talk station Radio IQ, has expanded its broadcast area to Richmond this month.
A Radio IQ antenna in downtown Richmond will receive signals from a transmitter in Charlottesville and will broadcast the station on 92.5 FM.
The station and its sister channel, Roanoke-based WVTF-FM, reach about 1.3 million listeners from Bristol to east of Charlottesville, general manger Glenn Gleixner said. The expansion adds another 250,000 listeners to the station's coverage area.
"It's just adding a deeper layer of public radio service to the market," Gleixner said.
