Henry Co. police seek information about fatal robbery
Five vehicles at the scene near the time of Friday's fatal robbery were captured on videotape.
A survivor of a deadly robbery in Henry County is still in the hospital, and police continue the search for suspects.
William David Thomas, 78, is in "critical but stable condition" at Martinsville Memorial Hospital, said Lt. Ricky Walker of the Henry County Sheriff's Office. Thomas was shot at least twice and his co-worker Nirmal Singh, 57, was killed by rifle shots when three men robbed the convenience store where they worked Friday night.
Officers have visited Thomas at the hospital a few times each day, Walker said. The hospital had no information on Walker.
Police have no suspects and continue to follow leads, Walker said.
They are looking for information about these five vehicles, which were seen on surveillance videos about the time of the attack:
- A red Chrysler with gray or silver doors. The front doors hinge to open straight up, similar to the style of Lamborghini's.
- A light-green or yellow sedan, possibly a Plymouth Fury, with a darker-colored top. The full-size car is thought to be from the late 1960s or early to mid-1970s. and has 22-inch to 25-inch chrome wheels.
- A white four-door Pontiac, possibly a Grand Am, from the late 1990s or early to mid-2000s. It has tinted windows and chrome wheels.
- A white four-door Chevrolet, possibly a Lumina.
- A black SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle stopped at the store minutes before the robbery, and police think the driver may have been a witness.
The sheriff's office asks anyone with information to call (276) 632-7463.
