Four arrested in Franklin Co. robbery and shooting

A fifth suspect has yet to be arrested in what investigators say is a gang-related case.

Four of five suspects in what's being investigated as an October gang-related shooting in Franklin County are in custody following indictments handed down Tuesday by a grand jury.

Dominic Townes, 21, was arrested Tuesday night at a Roanoke gas station. He faces armed robbery charges and a charge of committing a crime at the direction of a gang.

Three others -- Jeannie Sigmon, 28; Amber Scott, 24; and Michael Holland, 22 -- are in custody as well, though it was unclear Wednesday where they were arrested and where the suspects are being held.

Another suspect in the case, Demoan Townes, 18, is still a fugitive, said Commonwealth's Attorney Cliff Hapgood.

Holland and Dominic and Demoan Townes face charges of committing a crime at the direction of a gang, a rare occurrence in the rural county. They are also charged with possessing a firearm as a violent felon and malicious wounding. All five face charges of armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of robbery.

Court documents list Rocky Mount addresses for each suspect.

The charges stem from an October robbery in which the group allegedly lured the victim to a location and shot him, Hapgood said.

Hapgood did not disclose where the shooting occurred and he declined to comment any further on the case. The sheriff's office also released few details about it Wednesday.

Dominic Townes is scheduled for a Feb. 22 jury trial. Sigmon and Scott will make their first court appearances Dec. 16. Information on Holland's court status was not available.
