Resident injured after house fire
A Roanoke house fire early Saturday morning left nine displaced and one injured, Roanoke Fire-EMS spokeswoman Tiffany Bradbury said.
Bradbury said dispatchers received a call at 2:57 a.m. about a fire at a house in the 1500 block of Chapman Avenue Southwest. By 3:15 a.m., crews were on the scene and had the fire under control.
The fire was contained to the garage. Some siding on the exterior of the house had melted.
Bradbury said one resident suffered a minor injury and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage was estimated at approximately $7,500.
The residents were displaced because of a severed power line. Bradbury said she didn't know if the Red Cross was assisting them.
