Comedian Jerry Seinfeld returning to Roanoke in March

Megastar comedian Jerry Seinfeld will be returning once again to entertain audiences at the Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre and lighten their wallets by $65 or $78 depending on where they choose to sit. Tickets go on sale Friday. The performance happens March 12.

It seems silly to try to explain who Seinfeld is -- surely everyone knows -- but just in case, the 55-year-old, who specializes in observational comedy, played a fictionalized version of himself for nine years in the NBC sitcom "Seinfeld," which finished in 1998 as the most-watched show on television and still airs widely in syndication.

Not only has Seinfeld performed at the Roanoke Civic Center three times already -- in 2001, 2003 and 2006 -- but he also famously stopped in at Ernie's in downtown Roanoke in 1999 to order a breakfast of scrambled egg whites and orange juice. One might even get the idea he likes visiting the Star City.

Roanoke certainly loves it when he visits. His previous shows have sold out.

Tickets will be available at www.roanokeciviccenter. com or by phone at (877) RCC-TIXNow.
