Robberies reported at Walgreens stores
Roanoke police are looking for a man who robbed a Walgreens drugstore early Saturday morning.
The suspect approached the pharmacy counter of the Walgreens at Williamson and Hershberger roads northwest about 2:20 a.m. and demanded money.
"He obtained an undisclosed amount of items and left," said Aisha Johnson, Roanoke police spokeswoman.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8-inch black male who weighs about 150 pounds. He was wearing a red knit hat pulled over his face, a hooded sweat shirt, a black coat and beige gloves.
Less than two weeks earlier, a woman stole prescription drugs about 2:20 a.m. on a Tuesday from the Walgreens at Cave Spring Corners. Roanoke County police have not announced an arrest.
The suspect in that case was described as white and in her late 20s to early 30s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. She has strawberry blond hair and was wearing a multicolored hooded sweat shirt.
