Man, 21, charged in teen's hunting death

A teenager was killed while hunting Saturday, according to the Buena Vista Police Department.

Victor D. Clark, 15, was shot while hunting with Codee M. Clark, according to a news release. Clark, 21, of Lexington has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and recklessly handling a firearm.

Chief A.J. Panebianco said he doesn't know if the two were related.

The incident occurred in a wooded area on Virginia 501 "very close to the city limit," Panebianco said. He added that generally there are no hunting areas within city limits.

Clark was taken to the Rockbridge Regional Jail on Saturday, the release said. He was released Sunday morning on $1,000 bond.
