A wreck in Henry County killed a Georgia woman Tuesday when the car in which she was riding was hit at an intersection and spun into another car, according to Virginia State Police.

Virginia Bolton, 69, of Austell, Ga., was the passenger in a 1994 Ford Taurus traveling east on U.S. 58 just before 3 p.m. As the car made a left turn at Carver Road, a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction hit it, state police spokesman Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said. The car then crashed into a 2003 Mitsubishi.

Bolton, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, where she was pronounced dead, Carpentieri said.

Virginia Loggins, 88, of Stuart was the driver of the Taurus. She was taken to the same hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Carpentieri said. She had been wearing her seat belt, he said.

Loggins was charged with failing to yield the right of way, Carpentieri said.
