Roanoke County has set a community meeting on a revised request to build an asphalt plant in the Glenvar area.
The meeting is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Glenvar Middle School at 7 p.m.
Foxhall Properties, a company associated with Adams Construction, wants to build the plant on a site currently owned by Appalachian Power on Peaceful Drive, near the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
The plant had initially been proposed farther east on the old Salem water plant site, but after community opposition, the company sought another location.
A planning commission public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in the county administration center, and the board of supervisors is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the issue on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the administration center.
