Death of 23-year-old Christiansburg man under investigation
Christiansburg police are investigating a homicide after a 23-year-old man died early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the 1200 block of Moose Drive about 12:45 a.m. for "an unknown situation," according to a news release issued Monday by the Christiansburg Police Department.
On arriving, police said, they found Michael Quesenberry of Pearisburg on the ground and unresponsive. Responding officers performed first aid before Quesenberry was taken to Montgomery Regional Hospital, where he died at 2 a.m., according to the release.
The news release did not describe his injuries, but police said there was a fight between Quesenberry and his cousin, Keith Quesenberry.
Keith Quesenberry, 21, of Christiansburg was arrested on charges of public intoxication and assault and battery. He was held on a $2,500 bond in the Montgomery County Jail, according to the release, but the jail would not confirm Monday that anyone by that name was being held.
Police said the death is under investigation and list Keith Quesenberry as a suspect.
Calls seeking additional information from the Christiansburg police were not returned.
