Roanoke police on Monday released the name of the woman killed in last week's double homicide.
Susan Annette Robertson, 44, of Roanoke was identified as the second victim, police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said.
Robertson's body, and the body of Warren Roy Blodgett, 52, were found Wednesday by officers who were called to do a well-being check at Blodgett's house in the 2000 block of Dansbury Drive Northwest.
Police have not said how they were killed, and no one has been arrested in their deaths.
Robertson's family could not be reached Monday.
Blodgett's family had asked for the well-being check because they hadn't seen or heard from him in a week, police have said. Officers forced their way into the house and found Robertson's body on the floor and Blodgett's body inside a room, according to a search warrant filed last week in Roanoke Circuit Court.
Blood was spattered around Blodgett's body, consistent with a homicide, the court document said.
A search warrant return filed in court Monday says police took from the house a metal fence post, bonelike material, four cellphones, eight DNA swabs, lottery tickets, bedding and cigarette butts.
Blodgett's sister described him last week as a person who helped others and called him a "walking angel."
But two people who had been friends and roommates of Blodgett's said his house was a hangout for drug users and prostitutes.
Assistant City Attorney Timothy Spencer on Friday denied The Roanoke Times' request for a list of calls for police assistance at the house. The release of that information could jeopardize the police investigation, Spencer wrote in a letter.
Robertson had been convicted of prostitution in Roanoke once in 2007 and again this year. In April, she was sentenced to serve two months in jail.
An obituary published in Martinsville Daily on Sunday said she was a Martinsville native and leaves behind two children, a son in Martinsville and a daughter in Patrick Springs.
