State police continue search for Hardy murder suspect
Philip A. Kingery
Virginia State Police are still looking for Philip Allan Kingery, a 48-year-old man from Hardy who is wanted on charges of murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
State police spokesman Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said he couldn't confirm the name of the victim, or where or when the body was found.
Kingery is "still very much considered armed and dangerous, and we're still looking to the public for help," Carpentieri said Sunday.
Kingery is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with blue eyes and blond hair. He may be driving a white 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck with Virginia license plates PAK-ROK.
The case began as a missing person investigation a week ago today, when a report of a missing couple was filed with state police and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
Carpentieri couldn't confirm whether the victim was Kingery's wife, Rose, nor would he confirm her whereabouts, saying it was part of the ongoing investigation.
The body was sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy, to be performed today at the earliest, at which time the victim's identity will be released.
A man answering the phone at Kingery's parents' home in Hardy declined to comment other than to say, "Please pray for that family."
