Suspects sought in home invasion
A man and a juvenile suffered minor injuries Sunday during a Martinsville home invasion, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
In a news release issued Tuesday, Sheriff Lane Perry said the incident occurred in the 200 block of Riverview Court.
Perry said two men between the ages of 18 and 25 entered the residence with a shotgun. They forced the occupants -- two women, a man and two juveniles -- to lie on the floor at gunpoint and they demanded drugs, money and guns. They also were looking for a man who was not at that residence.
While the residents were being held, Perry said, another male who lives there returned home. The intruders threw bleach into his face and assaulted him with an iron. One of the juveniles also was splashed with bleach.
The intruders stole about $600 in cash and a necklace valued at $100, Perry said. He said the two residents who were injured were treated at a nearby hospital and released.
Investigators said they are also seeking a third man who drove the suspects to and from the residence. He waited outside the home in a green Chevrolet Malibu with North Carolina license plates.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Henry County Sheriff's Office at (276) 638-8751.
