Henry County authorities have made an arrest in a string of robberies that occurred early Friday morning in Bassett.

Sgt. Curtis Spence of the Henry County Sheriff's Office said in a release the suspect robbed or attempted to rob four businesses on Fairystone Park Highway, including the Fas Mart, Papa's Pizza Restaurant, the Village Market and a nearby grocery store.

Gerald Lyons, 28, of Bassett was arrested about 8:40 a.m. while walking on Trent Hill Drive, Spence said. Lyons is charged with felony robbery, felony breaking and entering, misdemeanor property damage and petit larceny.

Lyons is being held without bond in the Henry County Jail.
