Reward offered for info in Homestead shootings

BATH COUNTY -- The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Beacher Hackney.

Hackney, 59, is wanted in the March 21 shooting deaths of Ronnie Stinnett and Dwight Kerr. They were Hackney's supervisors in the kitchen at The Homestead in Bath County.

Hackney fled on foot after the shootings, and hasn't been seen since, officials have said.

Last week, and again Sunday, search dogs canvassed the mountains around the luxury resort but found no sighn of Hackney, said Maj. R.d. Chestnut of the Bath County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office is continuing to follow up on leads and is being helped by the Marshals Service.

On Saturday, "America's Most Wanted" will air a 10- to 20-second segment about Hackney, said Pat Dinota, a spokeswoman fo rthe show.
