2 killed in Homestead shooting
On Saturday, state and Bath County officers were seeking the suspect using tracking dogs and a helicopter.
Two people were killed in a shooting at The Homestead resort in Hot Springs on Saturday night.
Authorities are looking for the suspect, who they said fled on foot.
The Bath County Sheriff's Office received reports from The Homestead at 7:58 p.m. of shots fired, according to a news release issued by that office.
State police said they received a call from Bath County's sheriff's department about 8 p.m.
State police and the Bath County Sheriff's Office were searching for the shooter with tracking dogs and a state helicopter. Other police forces from surrounding areas also had been called in to assist, the news release said.
Police identified the suspect as an armed white male. Police notified Hot Springs residents to remain indoors with their doors and windows locked.
