Driver in Sunday Bedford Co. crash near Thaxton charged with DUI
A Bedford woman who crashed into a utility pole and then a building
in Bedford County on Sunday is charged with driving under the
influence, Virginia State Police said.
Tammy Graham, 41, is also charged with reckless driving, Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said.
Graham was driving west on U.S. 460 in a 2004 Ford pickup truck about 6:30 p.m. when the vehicle ran off the side of the road, hitting the pole and then the building, Carpentieri said. The wreck happened near Thaxton, west of Bedford.
Graham was wearing a seat belt and was taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The wreck closed U.S. 460 westbound for about an hour.
