A Penhook man died Sunday night in a single-vehicle wreck in Franklin County, Virginia State Police said.
Dominic Neal Matherly, 55, was driving on U.S. 220 about three miles north of the Henry County line when his 1985 Toyota pickup truck ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said. He did not know in which direction Matherly was traveling.
Matherly was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene just after 7:30 p.m.
