Links sought in two Stop In store robberies
Roanoke police are investigating whether two robberies at two Stop In food stores are related.
Just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, a man walked into the store in the 4000 block of Williamson Road Northwest and demanded money, police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said.
The man obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled. No one was hurt.
The man is described as a black male with a gray goatee, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a black puffy jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt.
The second robbery happened just before 6 a.m. on Saturday, Johnson said. Police were called to the Stop In store in the 1800 block of Memorial Avenue Southwest, where a man had demanded and obtained money.
No one was hurt.
The man is described as a 40-year-old black man wearing a dark-colored winter coat. He is about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
