RICHMOND -- The Virginia-based Christian Children's Fund has reported the death of a staffer in Kabul, Afghanistan, in a suicide bombing attack.

The fund said in a news release that Mohamad Shar, 52, was killed Sunday when a passing military vehicle was attacked.

The father of six was riding his bicycle in the area when he suffered fatal injuries from shrapnel. Shar had worked for the humanitarian aid group for 18 months.
