Officers were called about 9:15 a.m. to the 2500 block of Melrose Avenue, where a 50-year-old man reported being mugged, according to police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson.

The man told police he'd been approached by two males who assaulted him, took an undisclosed amount of money from him and fled. Johnson said the victim was treated for his injuries at the scene and did not go to the hospital.

The two suspects are described as black males between the ages of 15 and 25. Both are between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and both weigh approximately 110 to 120 pounds. They were wearing dark clothing and red hats.
