Roanoke police investigate more thefts from vehicles
Roanoke police are investigating three thefts from vehicles parked overnight in Southwest Roanoke.
The vehicles were parked in the 3500 block of Peakwood Drive between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, said police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson.
The thief or thieves broke the vehicles' windows and took electronics, compact discs and purses, Johnson said.
No arrests have been made.
Last month, police were called to Southeast Roanoke to investigate thefts from five vehicles. Two of the thefts were reported in the 600 block of Highland Avenue, Johnson said. Two others were reported in the 1300 block of Buena Vista Boulevard and one in the 600 block of Montrose Avenue.
Four of the five vehicles were left unlocked.
Police, as part of their Lock It or Lose It campaign, are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and houses. Police also suggest removing valuable items from vehicles.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Roanoke police at 853-5959 or the Crime Line at 344-8500.
