A Stuart man died in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday morning in Patrick County, state police said.

Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said Derrick Shane Coleman, 29, died at the scene of the crash shortly after 7:20 a.m.

Coleman was driving a Mercury Cougar on Virginia 8, less than one-half mile from Virginia 9307, when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a concrete culvert. He was partially ejected and the car overturned, Carpentieri said.

He did not know whether anyone else was in the car.
