Fincastle motorcycle rider injured
A man was injured Tuesday night after his motorcycle ran off the road north of Fincastle in Botetourt County, according to Virginia State Police.
Trooper R.N. Russell said the wreck occurred about 7 p.m. on Mount Pleasant Church Road, half a mile north of Virginia 635.
Jack Waldeck, 68, of Fincastle was riding the motorcycle when he encountered a bend in the road, Russell said.
"He just ran off the shoulder into the gravel and lost control," he said. "He brought it back into the road before he laid it out."
Waldeck was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where, according to hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart, he was listed in fair condition Tuesday night.
