Suspect in chase charged
Roanoke County police have charged a Richmond driver who caused a low-speed police chase through Roanoke County, Roanoke and Salem on Friday night.
Quinton Pulling, 34, was charged with felony eluding police, driving under the influence, operating a vehicle without a license and improper registration, according to Officer M.S. Christian.
Pulling was taken to Roanoke County-Salem Jail on Friday night. He was still being held there without bond Saturday night, according to the jail.
Officers tried to stop a blue 1989 Pontiac Grand Am for improper registration at Cove and Peters Creek roads, but the vehicle failed to stop, Christian said.
Police followed the car in a low-speed pursuit that ended when the car crashed in a wooded area in the 1100 block of Polar Lane in Salem, Christian said.
Nobody was injured in the pursuit, Christian said, and both the driver and the passenger, a male friend, were apprehended.
Christian said that Pulling was wanted in Maryland for theft under $100.
