A Bedford grand jury indicted a Big Island man Tuesday on five counts of animate object sexual penetration based on accusations that he molested a teenage girl.

Bobby Allen Markham also faces five counts of aggravated sexual battery in connection with the same girl. The charges cover a time period starting when the girl was 10 years old and ending after she turned 15, Assistant Bedford County Commonwealth's Attorney Wes Nance said.

A jury trial in Markham's case is scheduled for Nov. 18.
