Roanoke police are investigating a robbery early Monday at a downtown restaurant.

Police responded to Miss Dee's Old 97 in the 800 block of Campbell Avenue Southeast about 6:45 a.m., according to a police statement. A clerk told officers that a man had entered the restaurant and demanded money.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money and fled. No one was hurt and no arrests have been made, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a muscular build. He was wearing blue jeans, a khaki long-sleeve shirt, white tennis shoes and a mask over his face.
