Police found a man dead inside a Vinton residence Saturday afternoon.

Officers were asked to check on a resident in the 600 block of East Augusta Avenue on Saturday, according to the Vinton Police Department, and found Everett F. Scragg dead.

The case is pending an examination but does not appear to be suspicious, according to Officer J.M. Testerman.
