Motorist flees after hitting restaurant
Roanoke police are investigating a hit-and-run incident Sunday afternoon in which a car smashed into the Famous Anthony's restaurant at Southwest Plaza.
A gray 1997 Saturn sedan struck the awning in front of the restaurant in the 4900 block of Grandin Road about 5:45 p.m., police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said.
The driver fled and left the car at the scene, Johnson said.
No one was hurt, and no arrests had been made by Monday afternoon.
