Woman robs Franklin County bank Thursday
Authorities in Franklin County are looking for a woman they say robbed a bank in Boones Mill Thursday morning.
The woman hit the Carter Bank and Trust just before noon, said Maj. Josh Carter with the sheriff's office.
She walked in, quietly demanded money from the teller and told the teller not to attract any attention, Carter said.
No one was hurt during the incident, he said.
The woman did not display a weapon and fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a small- to mid-size gray car, Carter said.
She is described as 5 feet to 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 100 to 120 pounds, with dark brown, curly hair and an overbite. She was wearing a gray camouflage T-shirt and a bandana pulling back her hair, Carter said.
The incident is still under investigation. Surveillance tapes were being reviewed on Friday, Carter said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 483-3000.
